Linda's favorite way to experience the awareness of spirit is while spending time in nature. She grew up in the ecologically diverse mountains of rural southwest Virginia, where she started her study of life and biology as a child. During her spiritual journey, seeing the divine expression in her ongoing study of life has manifested into that feeling of connection with all life. Linda is blessed to work professionally as an ecologist and spend part of the year on the Channel Islands studying birds.
After many years of searching, Linda found her spiritual home at the Ventura Spiritual Living Center in 1996 and has been a licensed practitioner through the United Centers of Spiritual Living since 2001. She very much enjoys serving the Ventura church as practitioner to the church board, through ministry of prayer, holding consciousness and providing support for classes. Linda believes that spiritual counseling, practice and learning is very important to support the growing faith that assists people in loving and accepting themselves as their true, wonderful expression of Spirit. She strives to do ongoing spiritual practice to continue to grow to support the world she touches and to be the life and kindness she wants to see in the world. Linda thrives on learning and enjoys taking spiritual growth classes both at VCSL and through the School of Ministry. The Science of Mind philosophy and this spiritual community truly is one of the greatest gifts of her life and continues to support and change her life.
Linda lives in Ventura with her two awesome cat teachers. Contact Linda at firstname.lastname@example.org
Doreen Palermo became a licensed Practitioner in the summer of 2006. She was introduced to Religious Science over 16 years ago and has since been committed to teaching the Science of Mind principles to absolutely anyone she meets.
Doreen serves as the Director of Membership at VCSL, as well as being a board member since February 2008. After attending a church membership class at the Center for Spiritual Living, Seattle in 1996, she immediately knew what her ministry would be once she became a Practitioner, to create a membership program within a Science of Mind Center which would provide an easy understanding and introduction to the principles we teach, allowing all new comers to feel welcome, right at home, and live from that place within them that let’s an individual remember the truth of who they really are. She created the membership program and class curriculum used today at our center, which has also been adopted by other churches.
Lonnie Cassidy was elected as Board President in 2011. She is licensed as a Practitioner through the United Centers for Spiritual Living and is currently serving at Ventura Center for Spiritual Living. A native Californian, Lonnie has been fortunate to have lived in a variety of communities throughout the state before settling in beautiful Ventura. Lonnie has embraced her discovery of New Thought and loves serving her spiritual community. Lonnie is especially inspired by volunteering in the children's and teen’s ministry at VCSL. She also loves participating in fundraising events for the restoration and beautification of VCSL’s historic center. Lonnie is excited to pray with community members and to discover the wonder and love of life together.
Jennifer Gadberry-Hadrys discovered Science of Mind at the Ventura Center for Spiritual Living. She currently co-chairs the Gourmets for God with her husband Bill, and enjoys TA-ing classes at the Center. Her non-center life revolves around her husband, three sons and a career as a Patent Agent. She is a Cub Scout Den Leader and helps with her sons' soccer teams and school Book Fair. Any extra free time is spent with friends enjoying Ventura , baking or reading brain-candy novels. She is pleased to find a community that is so loving and supporting to all of its members.
Carol Lotts RScP has lived in Ojai, California, for twenty years. She is married to a wonderful man and has three beautiful children. Carol has been on a lifelong quest for spiritual understanding. She walked through the doors of the Ventura Center for Spiritual Living in 1995, and it has been her Spiritual home ever since. Carol became a licensed Practitioner in 1999. Service through prayer, meditation, teaching and Spiritual Counseling has been one of the greatest gifts of her life.
Carol had been the Director of Youth and Family for five years. It is pure joy to support and witness the wisdom and creativity of our youngest members.
Carol considers herself to be a student of life, and is committed to continuing her education. She is definitely on her way to The School of Ministry. It is amazing to think about how life changing this work has been. She is deeply committed in her work to heal, inspire, teach, and empower. It is through service and love that we can “lift up†into a higher experience, one new thought at a time.
